HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!

Nash turned one year old on February 23rd!  We celebrated with friends and family on Sunday with a big Elmo cookie and ice cream.  On Monday night we had a family dinner with pizza, cake, and ice cream.  I had such an awesome time.  Thank you to everyone who helped make my day so special!

12 month checkup

It's hard to believe Nash is one year old. The past 12 months have gone by so fast. It's really crazy how much he has changed but each stage has been exciting. He has become so expressive and it is amazing how much he has learned. He's a little sponge, soaking up everything he sees and hears. He had his 12 month checkup the other day...he weighed 21 pounds and was 29 inches long. That puts him in the 25th percentile for height and weight. The doctor told us we could stop giving him formula and start giving him whole milk instead. Nash is loving it. We are also giving him more table foods. He had his first ride in his forward facing car seat the other day and it was like he was in a whole new world. Aunt Whitney captured the moment on video. Ooooooh! Aaaaaaah!

Getting antsy for SPRING!!!

After enjoying a nice day in the 60 degree weather on Tuesday, we are getting antsy for spring. In the morning we spent some time out on the back porch watching the dogs play fetch.  Nash even got a few wet kisses from Daizy and Memphis which he didn't really appreciate.  We noticed the neighbor girls were out so we stopped by to see them.  They were drawing on the driveway with chalk so after tasting a couple of them, Nash tried his hand at drawing.  In the afternoon we went for a walk to the post office and stopped at the park to swing for a little bit.  Nash just loves being outside.  Even though it was starting to cool off, we walked over to see what the neighbor boys were up to and they let us play a little "basketball" with them.
During the cold, snowy days, Nash prefers to walk around hanging on to Mommy's hands or play in the cupboards.  By "play" I mean take everything out of the cupboards and throw it on the floor.  He now has 8 teeth and I think he is working on one of the back teeth now.  He is repeating lots of words like "out" "up" and "arf."  His current favorite is "WOW!"  During "Patty Cake" he is able to do the actions for "roll it" and "pat it."  He is very social and made friends with several people in line at HyVee today.
