Baby M

I can't believe I haven't posted about this yet..at least I don't think I have!  My brother and sister in law are due to have their first child on February 12th, 2012.  We won't know until then if they are having a boy or a girl.  So exciting!  Baby M will be Nash and Nolan's 9th cousin.  We are really looking forward to having a cousin we can hop in the car to see.  Right now we jump on planes to see their cousins, but that's a ton of fun too!  Here is a picture that Will and Daniele sent to us when Baby M was 20 weeks old and weighed 12 ounces.
Amazing!  Can't wait to meet you little one!

Oh Brother!

After seeing our family pictures, Julie sent me this picture of Jason and his brother Nathaniel from 1980..LOVE IT!

Family Pictures

We were overdue for family pictures.  Our last ones were taken last summer on one of the hottest days of the year.  This time we changed it up...it was down right chilly!  We had the same photographer, Donna, and she did a great job.  I want to post them all but I will try to narrow it down.

So blessed!

Halloween Happenings

A couple of weeks ago we received our Halloween costume box from Grandma Alonna.  Once again, she made the boys' costumes and we didn't know what they were until we opened the box.  She did a great job again this year!

Lightning McQueen and Sarge.  PERFECT!

Last weekend we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.  We got lucky because it was such a nice day.

Next we went home for lunch to gear up for pumpkin carving.

We couldn't leave Target the other day without these must-have costumes.  The boys love playing in these new crime fighting uniforms.

Quotes from the little men

The other day Nolan got hurt and was crying.  Nash said to him, "Awww Nolan.  What happened?  Come to Nashy.  Nolan, come to Nashy."
Nash recognizes all of the letters and can spell a few words
This is what I heard through Nolan's monitor this morning, "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.   OOOOOOOOOO.  DUUHHHHHDOOOOO.  AAAAAAAAA."  Nolan is getting pretty good at the IOWA chant.  He's even getting some of the arm motions down too.

My Little Angels

The other day I had an unusual number of work phone calls on my day off.  It's my own fault, I should shut my phone off but I don't.  While I was talking to one of my co-workers, my little angels were busy coloring me a beautiful picture.  The only problem was that they used our basement door as their canvas.
Little Stinkers!!  Thanks goodness for Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.  That highligher wiped right off!

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!

Last weekend we picked up the Diercks and took a little road trip for the weekend to Knoxville, Iowa.  We were excited to spend some time with them again and watch some dirt track races.  The boys had such a great time playing together.  As an added bonus, we got to go to Jordan Creek Mall on Saturday morning.

This weekend the boys got to spend a couple of nights with Nana and Papa.  Great Grandma Phyliss and Nini joined them as well.  From what I hear, they had a ton of fun.  On Friday night Jason and I met our friend Mike for dinner then met the Diercks at another dirt track race.  We didn't get home until about 12:30 am and we had to sleep fast!  Our friends Jen and Chris Toohey picked us up at 7am on Saturday morning for another weekend getaway.  We set out for South Bend, Indiana, for the Notre Dame vs. Air Force football game.  What a cool campus!

Half Time
It was great to catch up with Jen.  She has 3 girls and works full time so she is a busy woman!  It was such a gorgeous weekend.  80 degrees and sunny.  I like the way Fall is starting off this year.
Me and Jen
After the Irish pulled off a win, we drove part way home then stopped for some Italian food and a couple glasses of wine.  We went to our hotel and unfortunately the guys beat Jen and I at a couple of games of euchre before we turned in at about 1am.  We had to get back around lunch time today so Chris and Jen could watch their oldest daughter play flag football.  Jason and I ran some errands then picked up Nash and Nolan from my parents.  I was really excited to see them.  Thank you Nana, Papa, Nini and Great Grandma Phyl for taking such great care of the boys this weekend.  Even though we didn't really get caught up on much sleep, I am feeling recharged and ready for the week.  BRING IT ON!  (I hope this feeling lasts through Friday).
