Fun in the Fountains

Today was another gorgeous day.  We took advantage of it and went to one of our favorite parks hoping the fountains were up and running.  The boys had so much fun running around and splashing.  I had a ton of fun watching them and even got some color on this white body.

Baby #3 - 28 weeks

I can hardly believe we get to meet Hiccup in 12 weeks.  Time is flying.  I'm still feeling pretty good.  The roughest part is the pelvic discomfort and the restless legs which is normal for me during pregnancy.  The boys are getting excited to meet their baby brother.  I still haven't decided whether I am going to schedule a c-section or give VBAC a try again.  We switched all of the bedrooms around so Nash is now in Nini's old bedroom, Nolan is in Nash's big boy bed, and the nursery is ready for baby.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the summer heat will go easy on me.

Saturday was Genesis Day at the Niabi Zoo.  We took off early to beat the crowd and ended up beating the rain sprinkles too.

I did it...FINALLY!

On Monday I defended my doctorate paper.  It's something I've been working on for about a year and a half now but it's been hanging over my head for several years.  I graduated in December 2003 with my Master of Physical Therapy degree.  I was in the last masters class before the program switched to a doctorate level.  Most of us chose to take 4 of the doctorate classes during the summer before we graduated.  That left me with one final "integration project" to complete my doctorate degree.  It dealt with research which is not really on my radar of interesting subjects so I procrastinated for a long time.  It's a really good thing there was a deadline to finish this or it may never have happened.  I sat in front of my committee with sweaty armpits on Monday and successfully defended my paper.  If you want to know what the research says about Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, let me know.  My family and friends have been SO supportive.  I received so many encouraging texts and emails before my defense.  When I walked out of the building on Monday, Jason, Whitney and my mom and dad were waiting in the parking lot.  I immediately got tears in my eyes and gave them the thumbs up.  Balloons appeared when they realized my tears were good tears and we all went out for lunch before heading back to work.  Today is graduation day but I have decided not to take the walk across the stage.  I am spending the day with my family instead...maybe a trip to the zoo.  I am so relieved to be done reading, writing, and studying for this project!  (And secretly I'm looking forward to getting mail from the university addressed to Dr. and Mr. Wentland.)  :)

Bath Buddies

The boys love taking baths.  Especially in the big bathtub in the master bathroom.  It's deeper than the other bathtub but unfortunately, there is not shower curtain to shield me from the random sprays of water that shoot my way.  No matter what I do, I need an extra towel to soak up the water that doesn't stay in the tub.  Usually it occurs when Nolan stands up and body slams himself back into the water laughing the whole time.  Bath time usually ends shortly after this activity begins.

Nash is playing T-ball this year and now has two games under his belt.  It has to be one of the cutest, most entertaining things to watch.  I got tears in my eyes when he put on his uniform for his first game.  He looked so grown up.
