Quotes from Nash

Nash: I want to make a valentine for Great Grandma Alonna and Grandpa Steve.

Me: That's really nice Nash.  But its Grandma Alonna, not Great Grandma Alonna.

Nash: Well she's great at sewing!

Heat Wave

Is this really January?  We took advantage of the 50 something degree day and got some fresh air.

Nolan's 3 Year Well Check

Nolan and I had a few hours to ourselves the other day.  He had a check up so we dropped Nash off at preschool and Nyle stayed home with Daddy.  We went to Nolan's appointment which did not require any vaccinations so I was pleasantly surprised.   He checked out just fine.  He weighed 36 pounds (84th percentile) and was 38.75 inches tall (73rd percentile).  After that we went to Target so he could spend his birthday gift card from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Alonna.  He chose a snow shovel and an action figure of "Dog Pound" from the Ninja Turtles.  It was really nice to focus all of my attention on my Noley Bear for a while.  We should probably do that more often.  He was SO well behaved!

Nyle Steven - 5 Months Old!

Nyle turned five months old on New Year's Day.  I really can't believe it.  On Christmas Eve he slept through the night for the first time.  It was like a light switch. He did the same on Christmas night.  Since then though he gets restless around 2 or 3.  I've decided that rather then trying to pacify him 23 times to get him through the night, I just feed him 6 oz and we both go right back to sleep.  I can handle that.  He is a pro at rolling from back to front but still hasn't got the hang of front to back.  He is so smiley and his giggles are priceless.  He is such a drooler!  Whey do they drool for so long before a tooth finally comes through?  He eats cereal here and there but mostly he eats 8 oz of formula about every 3 to 4 hours during the day and that one little 6 ouncer in the middle of the night.  I started putting him in size 4 diapers to minimize the excessive number of blowouts we were having.  I think it has helped.  He loves to watch his brothers and bounces like a mad man in his bouncy gym.  He is a happy guy and getting more and more fun every day.

Happy New Year

After the wonderful additional of Nyle to our family in August, we were thrown a couple of curve balls in 2012.  My friend Tosha texted me this verse which has brought me such peace... Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says, 'Do not fear.  I will help you.'"  We are looking forward to seeing what 2013 has in store!  We still have a lot to be thankful for.  We enjoyed a relaxed New Year's Eve with our friends, The DeBuhr family.  We had an early countdown celebration around 8pm and we were home around 9 I think.  (The iphone pics are a bit blurry).

It was nice to hang with friends and still get a good night of sleep.  The DeBuhr's definitely needed to rest because Kenzie became a big sister to Harper Nell on January 3rd!  So happy for them!
