Round 3

Two days after Thanksgiving we found out we had even more to be thankful for.   A test verified my suspicions that we were expecting Baby W #3!  We are so excited!  (Unfortunately I have to wait a few weeks to post this.)
Nolan was upstairs with me so I had him carry the test down to Jason.  He could not stop smiling.  I showed it to Nash and told him what it said.  I asked him if he knew what it meant when a lady is pregnant and he said he didn't.  I told him it means she is going to have a baby.  He looked at me and grinned, "Are you going to have a baby?"  YEP!  Every time we ask the boys whether they want a brother or sister, Nash says "brother" and Nolan says "shisher."  We'll see.  Nash wants to name is brother "Happy."  Nolan wants to name his sister "Baby."  We haven't decided whether or not we will find out the gender early this time.  It's was so fun to have surprises the first two times.
My sister had spent the night and she knew I was suspicious about being pregnant so I had the boys take the test up to show her too.  Nash told my parents at dinner by handing them a picture he had "colored."  It was actually a printout of the collage above.  My mom sobbed while trying to squeak out how happy she was.  We told Will and Daniele the same way at lunch the next day.  We will be traveling to California soon and we can't wait to tell the rest of the family.  I know it's a little early to spread the news but there's just no way we can keep this a secret from our families.  According to the due date calculator on-line, our little one will be here sometime in early August.  Seems like a long time from now!

Quotes from Nash

The other day Jason and I took the boys to run some quick errands.  We wanted to look for new carpet and I wanted Nash to sit on some bikes so we knew what size to ask Santa for.  They were complete wild men in the carpet store so I had a little heart to heart with them before we left.  On our way to Toys R Us, I overheard this conversation..
Nash:  Nolan, are you going to be a good boy or are you going to run around?
Nolan: silence
Nash: NOLAN, are you going to be good or are you going to run around?
Nolan: silence
Nash:  NOLAN, are you going to run around?
Nolan:  Yes.
Nash:  OK, then we're going to leave you in the car.

Snickering from the front seats.

Thankful

There were 16 of us gathered around tables this year for Thanksgiving at our house.  Everyone brought a part of the feast so I thankfully did not have to do all of the cooking.

So much to be thankful for!

Water Boy

We finally got Nash into swimming lessons and he loves it.  He dunks his head completely under the water and his butt pops up just like a little duck.

Sounds like a great date for a wedding, right?  My cousin Samantha invited us out to Ohio to celebrate her marriage to Chris aka "Big Cat."  It was a long drive there especially since we passed through a random snow storm near Indianapolis but well worth it to spend the weekend with family.

The next day we flipped back and forth between the Iowa foot ball game and the Ohio football game.  It would have been much easier if they had just played each other.  The weather was nice so Nash got to beat up on my cousins.

More Halloween Fun

Jason was out of town Halloween weekend.  The boys and I went to a costume party on Friday night and had a blast playing with all of our neighbor kids.  On Saturday, Nana and Papa joined the boys and I at the Witches Walk downtown.  Nolan lasted about 5 minutes in his costume before he wanted out.

Halloween night we stopped by Great Grandma's for a little bit to show off our costumes.  Again, Nolan didn't last long in his costume.

For trick or treating the boys wanted to wear their Transformer costumes.  It worked out nice because it got a little chilly and they had extra muscles built in to keep them warm.

It was a good night.  We still have a full bowl of candy hidden on top of the refrigerator almost a month later.
