Bring on the belly pics!

So here we are at 30 weeks along...hard to believe. Only 10 weeks or so until we are blessed with Baby W #2. There are so many unknowns at this point but thats all part of the excitement, right? Since I had a C-section with Nash due to his low heart rate, they are saying that I can choose whether to schedule a C-section or wait and go VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). At first I thought C-section all the way however now I'm leaning more toward letting nature take its course. The doctors said they will let me know when it gets a little closer if they are leaning more toward surgery, but at this point its up in the air. This baby is very active. According to Baby Center, Baby W#2 should be about 15.7 inches long and weighs approx 3 pounds. WOW!

We moved a few of the rooms around in our house so the baby will take over Nash's nursery and Nash is moving into our old "office." We purchased a new convertible crib for him along with two dressers and we are in the process of making the transition to his new "Bob the Builder" room. I have mixed emotions. I'm excited that he is getting a new room but it's even further down the hall now! :0) But he is now going to be safely across the hall from Aunt Nini's room so that will be fun for them! I will post pics when we get everything situated.

West Coast Wentlands

My apologies for the break in posts recently. We took a few days to travel out west to see our family in California and I was apparently too busy (or too lazy) to get something posted while we were gone. Anyway, we were gone for about nine days traveling around Central Cali trying to see and visit as many people as possible. We stayed with Grama Jo in Bakersfield, went to Alisa and Billy's wedding in Taft, stayed with Grandpa Steve and Grandma Alonna in LeBec, visited Uncle Than, Aunt Mindy and Cousin Annika in Moorpark...and played with Aunt Kate, Aunt Terri, Cousin Ryder, Cousin Jaxon, Cousin Arabella, Aunt Megan, Uncle Chad, and Cousin Alden. We also spent an afternoon in Fresno hanging out with the Stirrups (Janice, Benji, Adam, and Carin). Another highlight was our visit to Disneyland in Anaheim!!! Needless to say, we are exhausted! The trip was amazing and we are SO thankful for all of the good times with our West Coast Family. Thank you!

18 Month Checkup

On August 23rd, Nash turned 18 months old! Today he had his 18 month checkup. He weighs 23 pounds 10 oz which puts him into the 20th percentile. He is 31 1/2 inches long putting him in the 25th percentile. His head circumference is 48.4 cm putting him in the 65th percentile. Our little man has big brains! He has 16 teeth now. The doctor said he should be saying about 20 words by now and by his second birthday he should be saying about 50 words. This made me feel really good because I'm pretty sure Nash knows a lot more than 20. Just to make myself feel better, I thought I'd take a little inventory of what he has said just TODAY (and used correctly)...door, Dada, Momma, Nana, Boppa, dog, away, snack, hat, shoes, juice, milk, please, loader, owie, oh no, stop, more, book, baby, lion, zebra, tiger, big truck, ride, car, Iowa, airplane, wagon, jump, out, Nemo, Thomas, mower, yeah, leaf, ball, bye bye, picture, bus, shirt
Other words he says...backhoe (imagine that), bird, cat, red, yellow, blue, orange, black, purple (he still gets his colors mixed up), lay down, mine, rain, rainbow, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, thank you, poo poo, one, two, three, go, wash, Will, Nini (Whitney), shoes, raisin, grapes, nana (banana)...
He knows sign language for...please, thank you, shoes, work, more
If I ask him how much Mommy loves him he stretches out his arms out and says "this much!"
He recognizes words and phrases such as "where is your elbow?" and he will point to his elbow. He also recognizes people in pictures if I ask him "where's Grama Jo?" or "where's Uncle Than?" He is able to pick them out of a group picture.
He is very quick to repeat any words that he hears too even if he doesn't know what they mean...so be careful!
He is at such a fun age...I think I've said that before. :0) If I have a rough day, it all goes away when I walk in the door and Nash gives me a big smile. One of his favorite things to do is ride the mower with Dada. He loves dipping his food in ketchup, reading books, and playing outside. We are still not sure if he is left or right handed. He tends to use his left hand most often but can throw a ball pretty well with either hand.
