Nash's big news

Nash is really excited to share that he is going to be a big brother!  We found out on March 28th that we are going to have another baby.  We think Baby W #2 is due Dec 2nd.  Nash and the baby will be about 21 months apart.  We had a doctor's appointment on April 24th and we were 8.5 weeks along.  The doctor told us not to be disappointed if we didn't hear the heartbeat because that doesn't usually happen until around 10 or 12 weeks.  We begged her to try anyway and she told us there was only a 10 percent chance we would be able to hear anything.  But this baby is determined to make its presence known already and we heard a heartbeat.  It was SO cool!  We have another appointment in a couple of weeks so we should know a more definite due date by then.

ACHOOOOO!

We are fighting colds...again!  Last week Nash had a slight temperature and was not his normal happy self.  I called the doctor's office and the nurse told me he probably had a virus that was going around.  He now has a runny nose and cough to go along with it and he was kind enough to share his cold with Mommy too.  So far Jason has avoided it.
Nash is sleeping a lot and not eating as well as he normally does.  I hope we get over this quickly so we can play this weekend.  The weatherman says we should get close to 80 degrees on Friday!  YEAH!  ACHOOOOOOO!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, April 11th, two of our neighbors organized an Easter Egg Hunt in their back yard.  They ended up having 38 kids show up for the event and each kid was to hunt for 12 eggs...thats a lot of eggs!  Nash was the only crawler but he had a great time!

New Do!

Usually when I get my hair cut and colored I take Nash along with me.  This is usually at least a two hour process though and now that Nash is getting more curious and more mobile, it's a little more stressful for Mom.   This was also my opportunity to get Nash's hair cut by Michelle.  She does a fabulous job and knows a few tricks to keep him occupied while she cuts his hair.  My next hair appointment is next Tuesday and this time I asked our neighbor Allison if she would mind coming over to our house to watch him while I get my hair done.  So instead of driving Nash out to Parkview for a quick cut and a ten minute struggle to keep him still in the barber chair, I decided to try a place in Davenport called "Cookie Cutters."  It's a hair salon for kids!  They suggested we make an appointment since its Easter weekend so we waited until 1:45 and made our way in.  They have a small piece of playground equipment set up inside for kids who are waiting and they have barber chairs shaped like cars and fire engines.  Nash got to sit in one of the cars and the movie "Cars" was playing on a screen in front of him.  There was also a larger mirror beside him so he could look up and wave at himself every once in a while.  I had Amy cut his hair a little shorter than normal because Nash has very thick hair and it grows really fast.   She was cracking up at him because every time she would show him a new toy to look at he would say "oooooh!" or "wow!"  He did really well and has a handsome new do for the Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow!

Step by step

Ok, maybe going to the New Kids on the Block concert last night inspired this title but I think its appropriate.  Nash is pretty proud of himself after he leaves the comfort of the coffee table and is able to get over to me in this video.  His little laugh is truly the best medicine.

Nash has a new thing he likes to do now.  After having his diaper changed, he wants to be the one to throw it in the trash. #1 diapers can go in the kitchen trash but #2 diapers have to go in the garage trash. Either way, he wants to help!

First Steps

Nash starting taking his first few wobbly steps toward me on Jason's 32nd birthday (March 29th).  I prop him up against the couch to give him a solid start, then I back away and off he goes.  Since then he has tested his bravery and attempted a step here and there on his own.  I give him credit for being brave but the results have not been very good so far.  Keep trying Nash!  Despite several crashes, I know he will be running soon!

Nash's favorite things
