Look at me now...

Nash now has 7 teeth and he loves to have them brushed.  We find him pulling himself up to his toy box or the coffee table which is quite a sight!  He can find your nose and is repeating words like "up" and "out."  Grandma Peg taught him how to drink from a sippy cup and he sometimes prefers this over his bottle.  He goes to the nursery now during church and LOVES playing with the other kids.  Everything they do makes him giggle.  Right now he is napping which is usually when Mommy blogs or posts pictures and gets caught up with things around the house.  He naps twice a day but they seem to be getting shorter and shorter.   Daddy is recovering from the back surgery he had last week and is restricted to lifting less than 15 pounds.  Nash weighs around 20 pounds, so they have been playing on the floor a lot.  We are in the process of learning to blow kisses and show the number one...but we don't quite have that mastered yet.   In just over a month Nash will be one year old.  How time flies!

Something new every day

Nash got a big boy haircut the other day and looks so handsome!  Both top front teeth are now through for a grand total of 5 teeth.  It looks like 6 and 7 won't be far behind.  And to make life even more exciting... he's saying Dada and Mama!!!

Nash's first Christmas

On Christmas Eve we had our traditional dinner of Broccoli Cheddar soup in a bread bowl.  Then we listened to the Polar Express while Grandma Peg flipped the pages of the book.  Nash rang the Christmas bell right on cue at the end of the story.  Christmas morning we all got up early to open gifts...Megan, Jason, Nash, Great Grandma Phyliss, Grandpa Rick, Grandma Peg, Whitney, Evan, Will, Daniele, and even Daizy and Memphis.  Nash, of course, opened an overwhelming number of gifts and enjoyed tearing up the wrapping paper into tiny shreds.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and being thankful for our friends and family.
Nash's right front tooth has now broken the surface however it is not really visible yet.  He is getting very good at the modified army crawl and the other day he even said "DaDa."  Jason has been smiling and rubbing it in ever since.

Overview of the last nearly ten months...

Nash Charles Wentland was born February 23, 2008 surprising his Mommy and Daddy twelve days early.  He had very dark hair and weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long.  He looked a lot like Mommy but since then his hair has lightened up and many people say he looks more like his Dad.  He is nearly ten months old now and it has gone by SO fast.  It's definitely been a learning experience but we are loving every minute of it.  He is mimicking our actions now and loves to point at things.  He has three teeth however it looks like more will be popping through soon.  He just recently started a very modified army crawl which I have a video of and hopefully can figure out how to post it for you.  He weighed 19 pounds 8 ounces at his last appointment.  He is in the 50th percentile for weight and 40th for height.  I'm not sure where head circumference ended up this time but he has been in the 60th percentile during past visits.  His next doctor's appointment will be in February, right before his 1st birthday.

Lets give this a try

OK, this is our first blog.  We have been using a different site to post pictures for everyone to see but I thought this might be  a new, fun way for everyone to check in and see what we've been up to.  Hang in there with me while I stumble my way around the "blogging" world.  Should be fun!
