Fun on the Farm

Going to the pumpkin patch with the whole fam can get a little bit pricey so Jason wanted to do something a little different this year. We had about 9 pumpkins growing in our garden but many of them were still too small for carving.  We picked out 12 nice ones from Hy-Vee and Jason took them out to the farm and scattered them around our garden.  He set up a scarecrow and lined that lane with cornstalks making our own personal pumpkin patch.  It was great.

The weather was a little drizzly and chilly so we snapped a few photos then met at our house for chili.  Carving will take place another day.

Toothless

Nash lost his first tooth on September 26th!  He first loosened it at school when he bit on an orange seed.  A few days later he and Nolan were wrestling around.  Nolan socked him in the mouth (the rules are different when the Wentland boys wrestle apparently) and out flew a tooth onto the floor.  We were all left staring at each other with our mouths open wondering how in the world that just happened.  I wasn't even sure it was a tooth at first.  Nash sat with big eyes running his tongue along the new open space in his mouth.  Funny memory for us now!

Back to Cali

Jason and I flew to California (by ourselves...thank you to each of you who made that possible) for about a week in Sept to witness his college buddy marry his beautiful bride.  Jason's dad picked us up from the airport so we got to spend a few days up on the mountain hanging out with Steve and Alonna (and the two horses, 4 dogs, 2 sheep and a cat).  We also got to hang out with a few of our nephews and meet our niece!  It was great to see them and slow down a bit before heading to the coast for the wedding festivities.

Justin and Michelle got married on a Spanish Ranch.  Another beautiful California wedding.  It's always a good time when we get to hang out with Jason's friends and meet the newest additions to their families.

One Fish, Two Fish...

Nash and Nolan took a few weeks of swimming lessons this summer at the YMCA.  They each went off the diving board.  Our little fishies love the water.

Little Sister

Sisters by chance...friends by choice

Quotes from the boys

Nolan (3) talking to Nash: "But not Mommy.  She might bonk her head.  She's a pwincess."

Nolan and I were laying in bed one night after reading a book.  My stomach starting growling.  Nolan gasps and says, "I think there's a baby in there again."
