4th of July

The 4th of July is always a ton of fun.  We go up to my parents on the 3rd and spend the night.  The morning of the 4th we a hit a parade in the town next door.  It was warm this year but nothing like last year.  That was brutal.  I remember because I was 8 months pregnant!  This year...very tolerable and the kids had a blast.

Nyle Steven - 11 months

Woah Buddy!  Not so fast!  You can't possibly be 11 months because that means you will be one in a few weeks.  So hard to believe.  This was such a big month for you Nyle.
Had to get creative with the bath toys   :0)
You generally turn your nose up at baby food because you know there might be something better offered if you do...plums, cheese, crackers, puffy snacks, yogurt bites, cheese curls...YUM!  You have 4 teeth on the bottom.  For the longest time you had one goofy snaggletooth on the top but now a matching fang has appeared on the other side.  More top teeth are pushing their way through.  You are army crawling like a champ and occasionally up on all fours.  We put the baby gate up at the bottom of the stairs and lowered your crib mattress because you are pulling yourself up on EVERYTHING!

You will walk all over the place if someone will lend you their fingers to hold on to...such a strong little man.  You sleep great at night but seem to be an early riser.  We have to keep a close eye on you around your brothers because they forget you are still a baby sometimes.

We love you to pieces Little Mister!

Happy Father's Day Daddy

Nash always looks forward to making Dad breakfast in bed (even though we end up eating more of it than Daddy does).

Farm Progress Report:
CORN! (and a few weeds)

Looking good!

Oh Brother!

I took some pictures the other day hoping I would get a few good ones with Father's Day coming up.  We are going to try to put something together for Daddy to put on his wall at work.  Hoping the creative juices start flowing soon.

Pretty good photo shoot I think.  I have some great models to work with.

Project "Crossroads"

One of the things I wanted to plant in the garden this year was sweet potatoes.  We were at the store looking for those darn seeds and could not find them anywhere.  Turns out, they don't grow from seeds silly!  You either have to grow your own slips or buy them on the internet.  This is how our science experiment started.  We first cut a few sweet potatoes in half and set them in water just like the picture on the internet.  After a few weeks and some patience, this is what we ended up with.

It actually worked!  We went back out to the farm this weekend to check on the garden and plant the sweet potatoes.  We were pleasantly surprised to see a few corn plants coming up and the vegetables seem to be doing great!

We feel blessed to have this land and the opportunity to work on this family project together.  We hope to have plenty of fruits and veggies to share with our friends and neighbors.

Nyle Steven-10 months old

Seems unreal that our baby boy will be one year old in just two short months.  It seems like time goes by faster and faster with each child.  This was another big month for Nyle.  He now has 4 teeth on the bottom and it seems like two are working their way in on the top.

He is very active during diaper changes and bottles so it gets interesting sometimes.  He sleeps through the night like a champ and takes two good naps during the day.  He loves to watch his brothers and gets a big smile on his face when he sees them.  He is getting up on all fours now and occasionally takes a lurch forward but still prefers the roll and spin method of getting around, and he is quite quick and efficient at it too.  He rolls from room to room and likes to pull the registers off of the floor and stick his arm down into the hole.

And he recently discovered that there is not a child latch on the drawer where we keep the baggies and foil.  Gotta keep a pretty close eye on this guy!  He can make the elephant sound and raises his arm up like a trunk, growls like a tiger and barks like a dog. Nana is starting to work with him on some new animals too.  He says, "Uh Oh" and waves "bye bye".  He loves the puffy snacks and just started eating the crunchy corn curl type snacks too.  He's wearing 18 month clothes and size 5 diapers because the 4's weren't doing the trick at night.

Nyle Steven,
You make us smile every day.  It is so fun watching you learn new things and make new faces.  You are such a big boy and I thank you for giving me a strong and defined right bicep muscle.  I know in the blink of an eye you will be off and running with your brothers.  So for now, I will enjoy this time while I can.  You are a blessing!
Love,
Mom
